"An Example of what we Squandered"

Things like this bring to mind yet again how much good will and generosity from the world we squandered in the way we responded. A moment in which we had the support of every country on earth. A moment when every other country mourned alongside us and gave tribute to us and empathized with us. And we squandered it like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum, resulting in those same people looking down on us, because they were disappointed by what many see as the country that leads... and for a time led so poorly.

This reminds me very much of those few days or even weeks where we had so much on our side and spent it so unwisely. I only hope we recover that respect and admiration that we lost and that people can once again eventually look to this part of the world for a glimmer of hope and potential and possibility for themselves.
